History

Conserves Ferrer was established in 1964 in Sant Llorenç de Morunys, a picturesque village in the Catalan Pyrenees.

The company was founded by Josep Ferrer “the Grandpa”, who began with the production and distribution of a limited number of high quality branded foods.

The first product line launched was Truffles, collected during the truffle hunting season. Soon after, wild mushrooms (porcini,lactarius deliciosus, hygrophorus), handpicked in local forests, were added to the product offering.

In the mid 1980s, the steady growth of the company and the need for more space in the production facility saw the headquarters move to Santpedor (closer to Barcelona) and also the opening of a new production plant in Cáceres (in the South West of Spain).

The great popularity of the Ferrer products encouraged the family to add a range of new products including their delicious Sauces and a variety of healthy and nutrititious vegetable options.

Conserves Ferrer has grown steadily throughout the years and consistently expanded its product range, always in keeping with the family tradition of using high quality, natural ingredients to prepare traditional Mediterranean products without preservatives. The new generation of the Ferrer family, while keeping the highest standards of quality and tradition, has invested considerably in the research and development of new products and recipes.

Nowadays, Conserves Ferrer is the leader in prepared meals and ready to cook food in the local market while, at the same time, expanding into International Markets.
