How to achieve a balanced diet

More and more we aim for a healthy and balanced diet to ensure our families are strong to cope with the busy pace of our lives.

Today we would like to offer a few tips and suggestions on how to achieve it using Mediterranean diet principles.

Food nutrients are split into 7 groups, of which  Milk, Vegetables and Fruit should be the most eaten.

  • Use Olive Oil regularly
  • Drink between 1.5 to 2 litres of water
  • Eat often and smaller amounts: 4 to 6 times a day
  • Steam, boil or grill food.
  • Avoid deep fried foods
  • Eat slowly
  • Exercise dailyTry to eat a varied diet and exercise regularly.

Example of a balanced meal:

Lunch:

  • 1 bowl of vegetable broth
  • Lentil salad :  Lentils, lettuce, asparagus, carrot, olives, onion, tomato and roasted peppers.
  • Grilled fish or meat
  • 1 fruit

Dinner:

  • 1 bowl of green peas soup with emmental cheese
  • Toast with roasted vegetables and tuna
  • 1 Fruit
