The Spanish food industry, with 17% of industrial product and 500,000 direct employees in the food industry, is the first industrial sector in this country and its sales are on the fifth position in Europe. The Spanish food and drink companies contribute with 12% of added value, they consume 70% of the agricultural production and decisively put their stakes on internationalization and R+D+I.
