2019

2nd “Calçotada Day”, this year fundraising for Minority Illnesses

For the second year in a row, Ferrer is organising the “Calçotada Solidària Day” to raise funds for the TV3 Marathon, which this year will seek support for Minority Illnesses.

It will be held on Saturday April 6 in Santpedor with a fun packed day of activities for young and old, a Calçotada followed by an evening concert.

There are different associations, artists and musical groups that have joined forces with Ferrer to help on the day to make this event successful and to raise money for the TV3 Marathon for Minority Illnesses.

The success of the “Calçotada Solidaria Day” is possible also thanks to the help of Ferrer employees volunteering on the day, to many companies that give their products and also to collaborators from different fields, which make the activities possible.

This initiative began last year and given the good reception it had, Ferrer did not hesitate to continue promoting this solidarity event that is expected to continue year after year.

Ferrer organizes the “Calçotada Solidaria Day”, in order to raise funds that are 100% destined for charitable causes. Last year the funds were to support the new Althaia Oncology and Hematology Hospital.  This year, Ferrer is seeking to raise funds for Minority Illnesses.

It will be a fun filled day  beginning at 12 noon with activities and workshops for children and adults, in the sports hall El Paller in Santpedor , followed by a large Calçotada and entertainment by the famous magician Mag Pota, bingo and activities for children, as well as a bouncy castle. The festival will culminate with a great night of concerts in the Stroika nightclub in Manresa.

New this year is the night of solidarity concerts in the STROIKA nightclub in Manresa and with the collaboration of the Casa de la Música.

The concert will be performed by SHERPAH, MAMA PATXANGA, JOKB, OVELLA XAO, RASTAFLAIRES and ARES, and will count on interventions from the FRICANDÓ MATINER (RACC105) staff with Ernest Codina, Pau de Ponts and Guillem Estadella.

Minority diseases are a very broad and diverse group of pathologies between 6,000 and 8,000, mostly genetic, whose common denominator is the low incidence: each affects 5 or less than 10,000 people. Between 6% and 8% of the population has a minority illness: in Europe there are 30 million people affected, 3 million in Spain and about half a million in Catalonia. Although the number of patients in each disease is low, they represent a very large group as a whole. They are, therefore, a great minority.

We are ready for the 2nd Calçotada Solidària. We look forward to seeing you there!!!
