At Ferrer we mixed six mushroom
varieties (Lactarius deliciosus, Pleurotus ostreatus, Lentinus edodes,
Pholiota nameko, Volvariella volvacea, Stropharia rugoso annulata) to
create an original and exclusive combination.
The mushroom combo is ideal to add to all types
of dishes, like stews, rice and salads, or as a side dish for meats and fish.
The combination of different mushrooms yields an original flavour that can
become your strongest ally in the kitchen.
The overall result of this mushroom
combo is a product that is low in calories with a high water content (80 to 90%
of a mushroom’s weight is water). It’s low in fat and rich in fibre. It also
has vitamins, including vitamin A and B vitamins, such as niacin (B3), and
minerals like iron, potassium, selenium, magnesium and phosphorus, along with
other bioactive compounds that boost the body’s defences. It has antioxidant
properties and ergosterol, a plant substance that when exposed to sunlight, can
turn into an inactive form of vitamin D, which, once ingested, can be activated
in the kidneys so it can carry out the multiple functions it has in the body.
